HMC was contracted by Statoil Petroleum SA for the transportation and installation of the Valemon Jacket (including a mini drilling module) in the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea approximately 130 km West of Sognefjorden and approximately 12 kilometer South West of the Kvitebjorn Platform. The water in this area is 135 meters deep.
Project description
The project comprised of the transportation and installation of the Valemon jacket (8732 tonnes), a wellhead drilling module (approximately 230 tonnes) and 6 caissons ranging from 850mm to 1300mm in diameter. 16 Skirt piles off 84” secured the jacket to the seabed. Heerema Fabrication group in Vlissingen (the Netherlands) performed the fabrication of the structures. The jacket was transported on the H-627 barge; the piles, drilling module and caissons were transported on the H-122 barge.
