Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited awarded the East Area 1B EPIC scope of work to Hyundai. Hyundai then awarded  a subcontract to Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) for the transportation and installation of the following EPC-1B facilities:

  • GX NLG Extraction Platform (Jacket, Piles and Float-over Deck)
  • GS Riser Platform (Deck)
  • GU Flare Platform (Jacket, Piles, Deck and Flare tower)
  • GN / GX Bridge B1
  • GX / GS Bridge B2
  • GS / GU Bridge B3

The GX Jacket was fabricated in Korea and transported on a Dockwise Swan Class vessel. The GX Deck is a float-over transported on the Dockwise Transshelf. All other facilities were fabricated in Port Harcourt, Nigeria and transported on 300' x 100' ft. barges.
