BP America Production Company is developing the Atlantis field in the Gulf of Mexico, Green Canyon Blocks 743 and 787. The development involves subsea wells tied back to a semi-submersible Production Quarters (PQ) platform through several pipelines and umbilicals.

Water depths range from 6800ft at the Drill centre in Green Canyon Block 743, to approximately 7050 ft at the PQ location in Green Canyon Block 787.

Heerema Marine Contractors Nederland B.V was contracted by BP America Production Company for the installation of six (6) pipelines including Steel Catenary Risers (SCRs).

These pipelines consist of five (5) Pipe-In-Pipe (PIP) production/test flowlines of 10" inner pipe and 16" outer pipe and one single wall 10" Water Injection (WI) flowline. All pipelines initiate at the Drill Centre by means of a PLET pull- in and terminate at the PQ facility with an steel Catenary Riser.
